Legacy Youth Zone is calling for volunteers in Croydon to help support young people to lead healthier, happier, more aspirational lives.
Once open this summer, the brand-new Youth Zone, will provide thousands of young people with somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.
The state-of-the-art Youth Zone will offer young people aged 8-19, or up to 25 for those with additional needs, over 20 activities per night including access to an indoor climbing wall, 3G kick pitch, dance and drama studio, training kitchen, music room with recording studio, fully equipped gym, enterprise workshops and much more, all for just £5 per year and 50p per visit.
As a charity, this fantastic work with young people can only be achieved with the support and commitment of dedicated volunteers.
Open 7 days a week, volunteers will assist in supporting youth work staff to deliver over 20 activities a night and provide support and guidance for those young people who need it.
The charity is looking for volunteers to join the Legacy team, to be trained and inducted before the Youth Zone officially opens this summer.
Lisa Scott, Volunteer and Training Manager said: ““Volunteers are an essential part of the Legacy team, they’ll play an instrumental role in ensuring the Youth Zone is a safe, inspiring and exciting place for young people to spend their leisure time.
“With a wide variety of volunteer roles available, from sports to arts, music to cookery, we want to hear from anyone who has an interest in volunteering with young people, has skills to share or a passion to give back to their community.”
No experience is needed as full training will be provided.
