Following the release of the latest Government-approved guidelines on how we can safely open, Legacy will have an exclusive offer available to all our members. Youth services are an essential part of helping a generation of young people that stand to be hit hardest by the economic, social, health and mental wellbeing implications of the crisis for many years to come and we are glad to be able to continue to support all of our members.

Please see below a time line of events leading up to our reopening that we cannot wait for all young people to get involved with.

From the 22nd June we will have dedicated detached youth work teams out and about in the community engaging with young people in parks, local housing areas and some targeted activities that young people will be invited to including picnics, a local running club and small sports activities. Over the next few weeks we will be increasing the number of outreach teams we have and be able to provide a wider variety of detached programmes young people can engage with.

From 6th July we will be partially opening our door to some young people who have been invited down to participate in a number of fun, creative and engaging activities. We will try these out for two weeks to see how our new offer works and get crucial feedback from some young people, so don’t worry if you are not invited at this point, there is more to come for you! Activities will be staggered at different times throughout the day and evening to adhere to social government guideline and a different way of navigating through the youth zone.

From Monday 20th July we will be back to our usual offer of 7 days a week with a few changes.  Activities will still be limited with bookable activities and some invite only. As we progress through the summer, we will continue to increase the number of activities available. Please check out our social platforms to see what activities we have happening and what activities are bookable.

We will also be starting our Holiday Club for 8-12 years on Monday 20th July with limited spaces available. Please keep an eye on our social media platforms, website and newsletter for our bookable release date.

We will also continue to provide remote support and online social media content for young people to participate in from zoom video call cooking sessions and well-being catch ups to TikTok challenges and online competitions.

Whilst we are really excited to be offering this slightly different approach to our members, we will still continue to be guided by government guidelines to ensure the safety of all our members, staff and visitors and we have strict capacity management, social distancing and hygiene procedures in place. Legacy Youth Zone will continue to monitor and review the evolving restrictions and remain responsive to any future changes or requirements.

We cant wait to see you all!
