#BlackHistoryMonth #2020 is a time for us all to take an honest look at our shared British history.

This month we will be highlighting the achievements and struggles of Black British people and we will continue to shine a light on all members of our community as part of our ongoing commitment to bridging the #equality gap and ending #racism.
While we will use this time to decolonise and reclaim history, we will also use this month as a starting point to #celebrate the here and now and the future possibilities that lie ahead.

Our first Great Black Briton is Ian Wright MBE, who defied the odds of a young black man growing up in 1970’s South London. From signing his first professional contract at 21 with Crystal Palace FC to playing for England and named as Arsenal player of the century, Ian Wright faced racism at every level but continually smashed through the barriers that were placed infront of him to pursue his dream of playing football for his country. ????
We were truly honoured to have been visited by Ian last year when we started to build our own Legacy.

Ian Wright we salute you.
