Six amazing Legacy members were awarded £250 each from the Jack Petchey Foundation!
The Jack Petchey Foundation was set up to inspire and motivate young people across London and Essex by providing exciting projects and programmes for them to get involved in. We also recognise the outstanding achievements of today’s young people by awarding them for their hard work and positive impact in their community.
Nariah was awarded for her contribution to Radio Production during lock down, learning a new skill and keeping young people engaged and entertained. Nariah also did an amazing job as a presenter for our live-streamed 1st birthday party.
Ashley has really been dedicated to contributing to our music and production team and has shown to be an amazing music writer and producer. During lockdown Ashley also taught himself how to play the piano. In addition to sharing his experiences with other members, he has also shown really high levels of respect to staff and has been a pleasure to have in the Youth Zone.
Callum is becoming more confident, engaging with more spaces, willing to try new things and experiences and becoming a committed member at Legacy.
Shai has shown real dedication and commitment to Legacy and supported in all areas. He really enjoys being an active member of Legacy Youth Zone.
Savannah has been commended for her continued commitment to the enterprise programme. She has come a long way, is more engaging in the Legacy offer and has built up some great relationships.
Richard’s passion for basketball has shone through even during lockdown. Richard is the leader of the pack at Legacy in the basketball sessions and helps get other members to join and attend. The staff trust him fully with the space, equipment and other members. He is a great example of how a young person can strive to achieve and contribute to the bigger picture, this picture being the sports offer at Legacy. He is a Really valued member of the team.
All six were awarded £250 to spend on anything they liked for Legacy. Callum has already invested some of his award to purchase new footballs for Legacy!
We are so proud of what our members have achieved in the short time that Legacy has been open and we cannot wait to see how they go on to develop in future.
