Throughout the year we ‘Legacy’ organise fun and exciting fundraising challenges to raise money for the Youth Zone and on the 9th October, we participated in London’s 5K Tough Mudder obstacle course in Morden Park which includes 13 extraordinary obstacles, we invited staff, parents and young people to be part of the Legacy team to then ask them to raise funds leading up to the day.
Tough Mudder is a series of obstacle and mud runs that will push your physical and mental limits without the pressure of competition. A community built on teamwork and overcoming obstacles, where stepping outside your comfort zone is the reward.
A big thank you to ‘M R Scaffolding Services Ltd.’ one of our Founder Patrons who joined the Legacy team of staff, young people, and parents to tackle the 5k obstacles course. We raised a whopping £5300 between the whole group!
Senior member Lucas said, “I would say the most challenging part was actually the running overall as it’s very demanding on your legs.”
Staff Member Saif said, “I’d say my favorite part was working as a team & bonding together overall.”
Lucas’s mum Lorraine said, “I found the monkey bars really hard so I would say if you have no upper body strength, train for the monkey bars.”
We had a fantastic time, great team-building exercises that brought the team closer together after a challenging year.
