Young People’s Development Group
The Young Peoples Development Group meet weekly. If you are interested in becoming involved in this group, please contact Myke.Catterall@legacyyouthzone.org but please remember places are limited. However, there are always other opportunities to get involved.
The name Legacy won the hearts of over 3000 young people across the borough who all voted and decided the name for the Youth Zone which is a year away from opening. The Young Peoples Development Group will get the opportunity to be involved with staff recruitment as well as promoting the Youth Zones to their fellow young people and community.
Young people get the opportunity to become involved in further recruitment, fundraising events as well as the general development of the building site. The past year has been a busy year with a wealth of opportunities for members of the development group such as witnessing the group breaking of what will become their Legacy Youth Zone as well as working closely with a design agency to produce creative hoardings for the surrounding of the building site.
The group have also had the opportunity to visit existing youth zones in the North West to get an idea of what it would be like once theirs is complete. Later in the year, further promoting and interacting with schools to introduce the official opening of the youth zone which will at that time be a few months from opening. Exciting Times!

Legacy has given me the opportunity to meet new friends and visit other Youth Zones across the country which is really exciting to see and experience what our Youth Zone will be like.
